Anchoring Your Deck

How to Use a Tie-Down Kit

Some building codes in hurricane zones require the use of tie-down kits with the Floating Foundation Deck System. Check with your local building official to determine the requirements in your area.

  1. Place an anchor/auger towards each corner of your Floating Foundation Deck System.
  2. Run the strapping up over the support boards and between the surface boards.
  3. Secure a cable or strap to the anchor per manufacture's instructions.

Tie-down kits can be found at most home centers, located near "Storage Shed Accessories."
